Background
Design District Helsinki brings together creative people in the heart of Helsinki. Design District Helsinki was born in 2005 from the idea of bringing together local actors in the creative industries.
Kohina Creative implemented a new map service for Design District Helsinki and developed the functionalities of the current website to support the possibilities of Open Data.
Together with Design District Helsinki succeeded in improving search functionalities, utilization of location information by enabling users to locate themselves and providing better visibility for the on-going event communications.
The application was built with a cross-platform app development frameworks that are used for creating hybrid mobile apps. Currently the app is published as a Progressive Web Application (PWA), which allows access to the application through a browser. Hybrid Development makes it possible to easily publish app for iOS and Android devices as well.
